Reaper Actual Foundation Alpha launches today, powered by Sequence

We’re thrilled to announce that Reaper Actual goes live today, October 8, with the launch of its Foundation Alpha.

Developed by Distinct Possibility Studios, a team of gaming industry veterans, Reaper Actual brings players an immersive, skill-based FPS experience available in both web2 and web3 editions. Built on Etherlink and powered by the Sequence web3 stack, the game introduces seamless digital ownership, player-driven economies, and trading, all while preserving the core elements that make an FPS great: skill, precision, and immersion.

Reaper Actual is one of the most ambitious web3 shooters to date and likely the biggest web3 extractor shooter to launch this year.

One game, two editions

Reaper Actual gives players complete freedom in how they play:

Web2 Edition (Epic Games Store): Traditional gameplay with no blockchain elements. Players can enjoy the full FPS experience without wallets, crypto, or NFTs. The team plans to integrate Steam Community Marketplace for in-platform trading as well when it is in its Early Access stage.
Web3 Edition ( ReaperActual.com): Built with Sequence, this version adds blockchain-powered ownership, trading, and player-created content. Wallets, transactions, and digital assets operate seamlessly in the background. Players can buy, sell, and trade in-game items or create their own for review and resale.

All players share the same world, though items cannot be transferred between Steam/Epic and Reaperactual.com to maintain balanced, skill-based gameplay.

The web3 marketplace

To access the web3-enabled features, players will need a Foundation Alpha Series 1 Bundle, a package of fully tradable NFTs that includes a Bunker Base and at least one playable Reaper. The Stygian Oath Edition includes all 4 Series 1 Reapers and adds a Warehouse Base to the standard edition.

The Series 1 Genesis offering is limited to 10,000 bundles, released in two waves: 2,000 in Series 1 Genesis 1 and 8,000 in Series 1 Genesis 2. Each wave includes unique in-game benefits that will evolve over time based on player activity. The first wave is live today, with more to come for balanced server testing. Players who choose the web3-powered version, built on Etherlink, can trade Reapers, Bases, and cosmetics through the ReaperActual.com marketplace. This operates independently from gameplay balance, ensuring that skill, not spending, defines success.

Servers will run 9 AM – 6 PM PDT on weekdays during the Foundation Alpha, with additional sessions added as testing expands.

Holding a Base NFT is required to access the web3 version, and all NFTs are fully tradable.
